Bar H

Bar H has a fantastic corner venue at the end of Campbell near Elizabeth. I don’t go down that street very often, but I wish I did because there are some hidden gems (including Cafe Ish across the street which is now at the top of our list for places to try).

When you walk in, Bar H looks like your classic cocktail bar (so we ordered two Old Fashioneds accordingly).  But we didn’t realise that their food menu is amazing as well.  We couldn’t decide what to get so we just opted for the chef’s tasting menu (they offer small $65 or large $85). Our favorite (besides the King fish… everyone in Sydney seems to have amazing King fish on the menu) was the Spatchcock and the Roast Braised Beef.

I highly recommend Bar H for a quiet little dinner with a small group. It’s a Surry Hills staple restaurant.
