El Bulli Spanish Tapas, Surry Hills

We’d walked by this place before and hadn’t realized it was on our list of places to try. Finally one evening, after attending the lovely Great Dane Furniture Contract Launch Party at my brother’s store@Camorose, McKay and I headed into Bulli for a late supper.

It was exactly what we’d hoped for. A jug of Sangria and three tapas were enough to satisfy all three of us – portions are quite generous for tapas – and everything was super tasty.

We each got to choose one thing. Obviously I went for the healthiest thing on the menu – fried, cheese and meat. The Croquettas de Jamon ($15.50) were crisp, cheesy and delcious. I didn’t even manage to get a photo of them I was so excited to dig in!

Christine chose the house favorite – Patatas El Bulli  ($10.50). Deep fried potatoes served in some delicious creamy sauce. Mmm!

McKay’s choice was the Gambas a la Sevillana ($19.50) – another #winner – panfried prawns in a spicy tomato/garlic salsa. I’m pretty sure I would love any prawn dish, but this one was ESPECIALLY delicious.

I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get dessert, but alas…gives us another reason to visit El Bulli – and we will for sure be back!
