I am actually in disbelief that we haven’t written anything about Hudson Meats already! It is BY FAR our favourite food shop in Sydney and we definitely shop here at least once a week. They have the most helpful and friendly butchers (Jonathan always gives the best cooking tips!). They also carry some awesome speciality foods – McLures Pickles, Nomu spices and rubs, Peter Watson condiments, Serendipity ice cream and so much more. It is your ultimate yuppie, meat-lover, foodie haven.
Let me just say that one of the best things that ever happened in mine and McKay’s relationship was the purchase of McKay’s beloved Webber Grill combined with moving around the corner from Hudson Meats. I know it’s hard to believe with all of the amazing photos of McKay’s cooking that I put up…but before moving to Australia…McKay was more of a boil pasta/grill up some chicken type of guy. Now he’s more of a T-Bone steak cooked to perfection paired with a rich bordelaise sauce type of guy. No complaints here. And for that…I thank you whole-heartedly Hudson Meats.
Note: We frequent (and love) the Surry Hills shop, but they have locations in Mosman, Cammeray, Lane Cove and even a newly opened shop in Toorak for you Melbourne folks!
