UPDATE: We’ve now been back to Mexico a few times since our initial post and found the food to be a bit hit or miss. The quesadillas and some of the tacos are usually pretty decent, but the desserts were not very good at all and during our most recent visit – the salsa was basically tomato sauce. Not the best. Still a great atmosphere. Nice spot for margs and drinks with friends.
We were disappointed to find out that District Dining had closed – it was a great dinner spot! But Mexico – Food & Liquor has sprung up in it’s place and it is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. We came in for a weekday lunch and loved the warm and friendly service, kitschy yet cute Mexican decor, and fresh takes on Mexican classic dishes. Though it was a week-day, we did enjoy a cheeky cocktail and would love to enjoy a few more when we come back for dinner another night.
