Nautilus Port Douglas

Nautilus Port Douglas

To find Nautilus, you have to walk up a long dirt path from Macrossan Street. Once you’re up there, you forget you’re in town. The restaurant is completely outdoor, located under a hundred palm trees, and actually pretty big. A very impressive, hidden location that’s borderline over the top, but the very friendly waitstaff keep the atmosphere modest and fun.

The seafood at Nautilus is amazing. The sashimi plate was perfect but the real winner is the “taste of the sea.” We really enjoyed the trio of Morton bay bugs with different sauces on each portion.

Bad pic, but you get the idea of the tropical ambiance. It was pretty striking in person. A one-of-a-kind place to eat dinner.

We definitely recommend Nautilus. It’s an authentic seafood tropical paradise and a restaurant experience you’re unlikely to find in a big city.
