There is nothing not to like about this adorable little coffee shop with delicious baked goods. This is a great place to sit and work for a few hours or to just come hang out on a Saturday morning. McKay really likes their coffee – so take his word that they do that right, but I’m more appreciative of their muffins and cakes! We were here on Australia Day – sadly both of us with our laptops working on a national holiday. It was actually embarassing that the next time we were in, one of the staff commented that she hadn’t recognized us initially without our computers…

Anyways – Australia Day morning here was when we were first introduced to Lamingtons – an Australian tradition – made with sponge cake dipped in chocolate glaze and then rolled in coconut. I think it was a one time thing, but the Lamington was delcious (I even was inspired to make them on my own!) and we’ve been back since to enjoy their other tasty breads and muffins. Lovely staff that know most of the regular customers on a firstname basis.

UPDATE – We tried the Pina Colada muffin and the Vegemite and Cheese muffin. And well…Remy was right – she can convert you non-Vegemite eaters with her muffins. The Vegemite and Cheese muffin was savory and delicious. The Pina Colada muffin was coconutty and awesome with little bits of white chocolate and pineapple throughout. SO GOOD!
