Bottom Line: Tasty cafe fare, though not the best in Surry Hills by any means, but enjoyable and quite inexpensive.
Another cute and trendy cafe has opened in Surry Hills. The space is actually quite impressive – apparently they roast their own coffee beans in the upstairs area. The menu is tiny, but somehow is still covers all the bases.Must try the “Dogs Breakfast” – basically an ice cream sandwich served with a pool of delicious salted carmel sauce ($8). Yum! Fresh squeezed OJ is a must as well. Their signature dish is the Baleada (Bal-YA-da) which is a tortilla with eggs, cheese, and beans in it. Tasty little guy, but for only $8…it’s not very filling. We also had the Baked Eggs ($14) which were a little bit undercooked, but we looked around and it seemed that everyone else that ordered it had theirs a bit more well done so it could have been a one time mistake. We’ll be back again probably, but most likely only in the event that Robocog has too long of a wait.
