Have I ever wanted to lick my plate after eggs benedict?  Not until this morning.

Robocog is quickly turning into my favourite restaurant in Surry Hills for both its charm and its breakfast. Apparently it was recently opened by three Thai friends and let me tell you, they can cook. Since it’s located in a terrace house on Riley, it has a little front patio on a small main room that gets great light. The restaurant has some great hipster deco which would entertain anyone: toy robots spread throughout the restaurant and, of course, fixie bikes.

You have to get the breakfast burrito there. It’s made with delicious chorizo that will leave your mouth full of flavour the rest of the day. And, I think they make their own tortilla because it is so soft and delicious that you won’t want to put your burrito down.

Also, the eggs “benny”. Although I love eggs benedict, I hesitated to order it because I didn’t want to have too much heavy Hollandaise sauce for breakfast. But they actually just drizzle a moderate amount of sauce over the plate. The ham is has an almost pull-apart texture which is delicious, and the sourdough is toasted with a nice crunchy crust.

Finally, their coffee and juices are fantastic. I have a feeling this is one of those places where you can’t go wrong on your order.

I don’t care if Robocog undoes my Saturday morning work out… I will be frequenting this place very often.
