Sydney: Week One

Sydney: Week One

I’d really hoped our first post from Sydney would be loaded with photos of us on the beach, enjoying the sun – me with a cuddly koala bear on my shoulder – McKay surfing some killer wave at Bondi.Alas – this is not the case. We’ve now been in Sydney for seven days, the majority of which we’ve spent scouring the city and learning that Sydney is not only quite humid, but also one of the most competitive cities to find an apartment in – and we’ve both lived in Manhattan…

Regardless, after seven very stressful days apartment hunting – WE SIGNED OUR LEASE TODAY! For an amazing two-bedroom place that was our number one choice! We can’t wait for you all to visit (once our furniture arrives mid February…).

There will be a post on how we found this gem of an apartment later (once we’ve recovered), but until then…enjoy some photos from the week:

We’re temporarily staying at Regent’s Court in Pott’s Point. It’s a boutiquey hotel/short-term stay place and we HIGHLY recommend it to anyone needing such a thing. It’s pretty clean, the staff is amazingly friendly and it has an AWESOME roof deck.
Food in Sydney is delicious. And totally fat-free…clearly.
We are in love with our new neighborhood – Surry Hills. We move into our apartment this weekend! Of course these photos are with the previous tenants furniture, and we’ll be air-mattressing it up for a while till ours arrives, but you get the idea!
