Weekend In Melbourne Episode Two – Footy, Meat Pies & Adorable Kidlets…

We were back in Melbourne last weekend and despite the bone chilling cold weather (typical year-round weather in SF, freezing to us Sydney-siders), we had a wonderful time! I was in town for client meetings at the end of the week so McKay flew in Friday night for the weekend.

We went out for dinner on Friday night with a few friends and ended up at an amazing restaurant called Movida Next Door (post to come). We stayed at an awesome boutique hotel called The Cullen, which is just a block from my brothers shop and part of a group of hotels called the Art Series Hotels. A very cool idea to have each hotel named after an artist whose work the hotels decor is modeled after.

The rest of the weekend was spent with family… finished off with my first AFL game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Sadly, it wasn’t the best day for watching footy weather-wise, but we made it work (read: ate meat pies and drank beer). Great weekend all in all. Always nice to be so close to family. Pretty much obsessed with my niece and nephew, Persia and Deus.
